I’ll get back to you with an estimate of how long the translation will take to complete and how much it will cost.

If you’d like to go ahead with the translation, email me your document as a scanned PDF or a clear and full picture. I’ll reply with a precise quote and my payment details.
Step 4
Once you’ve sent me the payment by bank transfer, I’ll translate your document, certify it and create the certification of translation conformity.
Step 5
I’ll scan your certified translation back to you via email for approval. Let me know if any amends are needed. If not, you’re good to go and can send your certified translation to the institution that has requested it.
Step 6
If you need a hard copy of your certified translation, I’ll post it to you via recorded delivery (for an additional fee) and send you the tracking number.

What do you do to certify the translation?
For English to Italian certified translations, I apply the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) seal to the first page of the translation and add my signature to any subsequent pages.
For certified translations from Italian to English and French to Italian, I apply my signed business stamp to every page of the translation.
For every certified translation, I also attach the certificate of translation conformity with my contact details, credentials and qualifications.

What is a certificate of translation conformity?
A certificate of translation conformity is a declaration I attach to the certified translation to say that I’ve accurately translated the content of the document into the required language.
Does the apostille need to be translated?
The apostille is an international legalisation of the stamp/signature on an original document. It is often required when registering events such as births, deaths or marriages.
In the UK, for example, apostilles are issued by the Legalisation Office.
It’s your responsibility to check if an apostille is required as part of the registration process and to contact the relevant office to obtain it.
As the apostille legalises the stamp/signature and not the content of the original document, it is therefore separate from the translation.
For these reasons, the apostille is accepted in its original language by the countries that are part of the Hague Convention.

How long do certified translations take?
I usually need 1 to 2 working days from the date you send me your payment to complete a certified translation of 1 to 2 pages.
Do I need a hard copy of the certified translation?
This is a requirement you need to check with the institution that will be responsible for managing your documentation, as it can vary based on the location, the body or the single case. The Italian Consulate in London has confirmed that I don’t need to send my clients hard copies by post. However, if you want me to send you the translation by post for extra security and peace of mind, I can (for an additional fee).
